”This July we, two youth workers from Estonia, had a chance to participate in a project in Kalna Zagari, Latvia. The project “Elevate YOUth Work” was about supporting volunteers and youngsters who are part of the LGBTQIA+ community through coaching, image theater, body theater and voice awareness. During these days we ourselves got to experience all these methods as well as many other tools and exercises that helped us reflect on our personal and professional identities and learn from our experiences.
From the project, we learned how to be more open, considerate with others and how to be a better coach. For example, a body movement workshop and image theater helped a lot with feeling more free and not comparing myself with others. We are all different, we speak different languages, we feel different emotions and we even see the same thing in a different aspect and that all was very eye opening. ”
