A moment from the Training Course, March 2023

One of the most exciting aspects of the course was the opportunity to work on a real-life video project. We were given the chance to work with a local organization in Riga to create a video that would help raise awareness about their cause. This hands-on experience allowed us to put the skills we learned into practice and see the impact of our work firsthand.

One of the unique aspects of this edition of Film Forward Training Course was its focus on the LGBTQIA+ community. Active Rainbow is an organization that advocates for LGBTQIA+ rights and inclusion. This created a safe and supportive space for us to learn and create, and we were encouraged to explore issues related to gender and sexuality in our video projects. By highlighting the experiences and perspectives of LGBTQIA+ individuals, we were able to create videos that were not only informative but also helped promote greater understanding and acceptance of the community.

Cat:

”This amazing project created and beautifully organized by amazing people made me fall in love with movie making all over again. It was eye and heart opening. A good example of how a training course should work.

Inês:

”This TC was a great opportunity to grow through creative assignments and collaboration. One thing that stood out to me was how supportive and collaborative the instructors and fellow participants were. Getting to work on projects that focused on the LGBTQIA+ community was also very important and reaffirming for me.”

Camila:
Creating videos with a message has the power to spark change and ignite conversations on important issues. Using video as a tool for activism has been a passion of mine for years. I had the opportunity to participate on this project that focused on LGBTQ+ rights and it was a truly eye-opening experience. Meeting new people and hearing their life stories and experiences was a source of inspiration for me.
