”Pride Begins was an opportunity to be more aware of the community I’m a part of and wanting to do something for it. In this project I unlocked a more active and creative side of me, having the space to express it wich I am very grateful to Active Rainbow for all this guidance and freedom that we were given.
Living daily with people from the lgbtqia+ community, both at work and outside of it, brought inspiring stories to my life, realizing that this safe space is not always guaranteed and that woke something in me to really want to bring this to all of the people who also look for spaces like that. This project will undoubtedly be the opportunity to light up even more that flame of desire for change that you have within you!”
Ilia:
”Pride Begins has been an wonderful experience that I will cherish for the rest of my life! This journey helped me develop myself in so many ways, both professionally and personally. I am so happy to have been given the chance to volunteer in a community as supportive and welcoming as Active Rainbow. It was great that we were free to organize our own events and help the community in original ways. During this month I learned the importance of this type of work.”
Filo:
”Pride Begins was for me like a completely new immersive experience into something that I’ve never had before in my life. Being part of a super active and cohesive queer community pushed me towards being more active, louder and prouder.
My teammates were amazing, and I think I learned a lot from each one of them, they were for me a support system and we achieved big things together. I had so many “new-s” in this project, and Pride was the most remarkable one: parading with all the queers and allies of Latvia was one of the moments that I will cherish forever in my life.”

”This project was an amazing chance for me to grow on both at a personal and professional level. I had the opportunity to connect with a bunch of different people from the LGBTQIA+ community, all bringing their own unique perspectives and experiences to the table.
Trying out new things and being part of such a beautiful community was incredibly meaningful to me and helped me better shape the environments I want to create around me.”
