Andriana:

I had the joy of experiencing eight days of a space full of radical love, curiosity, tenderness, and connection.

The trainers were wonderfully prepared, but what made the experience shine was how everyone brought a piece of their own soul into the co-creation. Together, we cultivated an atmosphere of openness, collaboration, and trust—building not only an inclusive and safer space, but also a braver one where vulnerability and authenticity could thrive.

I was also there as the group’s emotional support person—holding an extra space for reflection and offering a fresh, attentive ear. It was beautiful to witness the trust and care that flowed through those moments.

What amazed me most was how we practiced self-care and radical care not just as concepts, but as a way of being together. Our peer-to-peer learning sparkled with queer joy—dancing, laughing, supporting, and dreaming side by side.

This Erasmus+ experience with Active Rainbow felt less like a training and more like a gentle revolution of love, play, and possibility. 🌈✨

Andriani:

I had the opportunity to be part of the amazing experience that was the Include:Ed: Queering Sexual Education program in Zviguli, Latvia this July and I am so grateful for this experience.

It was really hopeful for me to see so many open-minded, queer people come together to create a safe space among each other where we all spoke our truths while being respectful of our peers. All of us coming from different backgrounds, we had the opportunity to share our personal struggles and thoughts that bring us down and we realized we are not so different in the end. We are all connected under the same cause: activism and solidarity. In a world full of injustice, I felt hopeful for my future and for my people.

The days that we were together, the team had prepared for us amazing activities that included not only theoretical and practical information on the topic of Queering Sex Ed, but also activities that had to do with community bonding, care and self-care. Something that is extremely important for social justice movements nowadays but unfortunately lacks. We explored our limits, our boundaries and we challenged ourselves to be more inclusive, all while learning.

I am extremely grateful to have been part of such a beautiful and diverse team and to meet our organizers and what Active Rainbow is trying to create not only in Latvia but in Europe in general. I really hope I will have the chance to work with them again sometime, someday, somewhere to make this cruel world a bit more queer.
