Madža:
From project “Reset” I came out, almost as a new human being. This project shaped my view and opened my eyes in such a way, as if I would’ve always eaten my soup with a fork.
I learned and was reminded of various important aspects of what is it, that makes a space safer and more inclusive, which for me, is a very important aspect to share with my colleagues and students, because every day we work with youth.
4 key components of NVC are truly something that for me was crucial to learn/re-learn, because now I hear people differently, which helps me, of course, both, in work environment and outside of work. My communication with people is now more efficient and I already have helped my students to communicate their needs/problems. I also feel more confident and comfortable to speak about consent and I feel that after the project, I can support the people around me better. I knew what kind of a project I’m signing up for, but I never knew, I could change my ways of thinking and doing life in only a week. The week was intense and at some moments the information was difficult to consume, but I am forever grateful for the opportunity, that changed me for the better.

In a way this project reached me, not the other way around, my participation was very last minute, so I already had a feeling like I was meant to be there. And this, of course, turned out to be true. As I am currently partly studying management, I am grateful for this project, for the non-formal education that I received, that I probably would have never receive at my university, focusing on conflict prevention and resolving. Developing a toolkit sounded a bit scary at first, but, once we all got more familiar with each other, made connections and got to work, the book almost wrote itself. I noticed how lucky I am, that a lot of the things we pointed out already felt like a norm for me, which, unfortunately, is not the usual case in projects and other environments. I am very proud of what all of us developed, about how inclusive, diverse and detailed the toolkit turned out.
