Angela:

For me, RESET was a much-needed breath of fresh air. Even though the knowledge and topics we discussed were quite familiar to me, and I didn’t learn many new things, the fact that I could share it with so many people and see their perspectives was incredibly enriching. Without a doubt, a safer and more inclusive space was created (even though we don’t like that term, haha).

It was the project I will carry in my heart forever, as I connected with people in a way I had never done before in any other project. Everyone who was part of it has a truly wonderful soul, and I am incredibly grateful to have experienced this with them.

As for the theme, it felt a bit too simple. Maybe I would have liked to dive deeper into certain topics that remained quite surface-level, but I understand that it was a way to make the subject more accessible to people with different levels of knowledge.

Javi:

When I travelled to Latvia for the second time to participate in this project I did not expect such an intense experience. I am really surprised with all the work done by the facilitators and, of course, all the daily effort of the participants who really cared about sharing their ideas. There is a reason for this. We, the young people, really want to change our local communities and make an impact. We want more inclusive spaces where no one feels threatened for expressing their ideas and really showing up as they are. With Active Rainbow you will find a safe space where you can learn and where you can also make yourself known. Before I say goodbye, I would like to thank all the people who gave me a smile during a week that was so full of emotions for me.

Amaia:

The Reset training course has been an experience from which I have learned a lot. I decided to take part in this project because I was very interested in the topic. I am a teacher, and I specifically work with students with special needs, so I believe it is very important to continually train myself and to stay informed of new topics that can be important for my job. One of the most important things I take away from this project is the stories of different people involved, which have inspired me. Listening to and seeing the perspectives of individuals from diverse backgrounds or with experiences that are different from mine has made me reflect on various aspects of my life. It is also true that this project has created a space where we can share our thoughts and concerns without any fear, which has made me feel safe and valued. Listening how others think and what kind of needs they may have has also made me reflect, as new ideas have been brought up that I hadn’t heard before. Additionally, we have worked in both larger and smaller groups, which has facilitated communication and allowed us to get to know each other on a deeper level. Meeting these people has been very inspiring for me. Each one of them is unique in their own way. The conversations and reflections we’ve had, whether during the sessions or outside of them, have been very enriching and have led me to discover new approaches and even terms I wasn’t familiar with. As I mentioned before, being a teacher, I like to stay informed, and this project has given me the opportunity to consider scenarios that may arise in my professional or social environment. It has provided me with tools to anticipate these situations and ways to address them. I’ve also learned methods to create environments where all participants feel supported and spaces where it’s safe to discuss all kinds of topics and where exclusion doesn’t exist.
I feel very grateful to have been part of this, and this project makes me believe that a better future is possible for all of us. I truly appreciate all the work the team does to make these training courses possible. It has been a very valuable opportunity.
Gaby:
Reset was my first experience with a training course, and personally, it was a very enriching experience that I would not hesitate to repeat. One of the most meaningful aspects of the project was the opportunity to engage with curious people whose diverse experiences contributed a wide range of perspectives on the same topic. Each activity became a new opportunity to debate, reflect, or simply share ideas that opened the door to scenarios I had never considered before. Listening to others share their thoughts sparked my curiosity and interest, creating conversations that invited further reflection and encouraged the active search for possible solutions or useful tools. It was truly valuable to be surrounded by people with similar interests who inspired me in different ways and from whom I could learn just by being present there.
Listening to the reflections after each session with the whole group, as well as the smaller discussions during activities, made the experience even more enriching. The entire process was a journey of reflection, not only on new things I was discovering but also on what I already knew and what was undergoing deconstruction. Above all, it was a reminder that, even when things seem obvious, nothing should be taken for granted. It is always worth revisiting and reflecting on what may appear obvious.
This process of learning and reflection would not have been possible without a safe environment in which the activities took place. That sense of safety was achieved thanks to the efforts of the team and the participants, who exemplified the tools needed to create safer and more inclusive spaces. They demonstrated that it is truly possible to work toward meaningful change in these areas.
